Adaptation response: why is it so important to measure it?

Every modern athlete has access to data about their training today. Heart rate, pace, distance, daily stress, sleep quality and much more are measured. Nevertheless, many athletes still miss the key information that is easily measurable thanks to modern technology. This information is called the adaptive capacity and the adaptive reaction of the body. You will find more information about this essential physiological process in the video bellow:

It is essential for any successful training process to realize that the purpose of training is not training itself (to destroy oneself physically). The purpose of training is to evoke in the body the need to respond to training stimuli by increasing energy reserves, capacity, endurance. This physiological process is called GENERAL ADAPTATION SYNDROME and to make it easier to understand, we have created a video to explain it:
